When my friends posted a video of their business called “The Handy Man” on Facebook, I was suddenly reminded of a parody I wrote years ago on the song “The Candy Man” because I was so fascinated by what one man could do.
Parody on “The Candy Man”
[C] Who can take an old house (who can take an old house)
[G] Tear it all apart (tear it all apart)
[F] Take away the clutter and re- [G] build it with his heart
[F] The handy man (the handy man)
[C] Oh, the handy man can (the handy man can)
[G] The handy man can
‘Cause he [F] figures out what’s right
And makes the [C] home a place to live
(Makes the home for us to live)
[C] Who can take a cheese board (who can take a cheese board)
[G] Turn it upside down? (turn it upside down)
[F] Use it for the barbecue or [G] fit it in a shed
[F] The handy man? (the handy man)
[C] The handy man can (the handy man can)
[G] The handy man can ’cause he [F] figures out what’s right
and makes the [C] home a place to live.
(Makes the home for us to live)
