Our 4th anniversary falls on Thursday 4/4/24 which has a nice ring to it and is easy to remember as we end at 4 PM EDT. We will focus on four chord songs with common chord progressions (here’s a list).
This one-hour session is the first of six sessions in the new season SPRING 2024. If you’re a season pass holder, time to renew your subscription. After this session, there’s a one-hour workshop on how to play Happy Birthday.
Dress code: wear something with a number 4 on it OR a pattern OR both.
Effective 15th February 2024, your first 3 Chord Thursday song session in 2024 is FREE. You’re also welcome to have as many people in your Zoom session as you like without further subscription. In-person with the host is free. The next in-person is Thursday 2nd May 2024. Register in Zoom as often as you like to get the Zoom link. Enter Zoom at any time to set up. The host and performers will do sound and visual checks half-hour before the start time. All sessions are livestreamed and video recorded for review and replay.
Common chord progressions refer those sequences of chords that are used often. Below is an example of what’s known as the 50’s progression or doo-wop, used in songs like Chain Gang (Sam Cooke), Earth Angel, Stand By Me, and Unchained Melody. It’s useful to practice such progressions.
