When I was recording “Waltz Up the Neck,” after I had put aside the piece to stew, I realized it was not as easy as I had intended. Here’s my second attempt to write an easy to play waltz. The short piece is also in the key of C major but the melody is a descending C major scale, hence “Waltz Down the C.” So far, I am deliberately writing for high G ukulele (rather than low G) for good reasons.

This chord melody arrangement showing the two voices (melody and accompaniment) makes use of the open string notes of the C major chord.

I wrote this piece half an hour before going to bed. Hopefully it works!
Pick! Pluck! Play!
I wonder if it’s easy enough to replace one of the 12 pieces in level 1 of “Pick! Pluck! Play” book.
The last page “Ukulele Chords” of the new book contains a table of ukulele chord diagrams ordered alphabetically for the chords used in the book.
I’m thrilled about releasing these two books as a precursors (prerequisite) to the 12 Chinese Zodiac Suite, which contains three skill levels.
I am recording all my new compositions in the 100 Days of Ukulele 2025 project. To me, this challenge means uploading a new video recording of a new piece each consecutive day from 1st March to 8th June 2025.
